Voter Services Needs Team Leaders

Voter Services Needs Team Leaders

VOTER SERVICES NEEDS TEAM LEADERS By Phyllis Applebaum‚ Voter Services Chair  We are in an important election year‚ and the League of Women Voters wants as many people to vote as possible.  However, we know many aren’t ready to vote. Many who traditionally vote by mail don’t realize their privileges now expire at the end of every even year. Many have yet to reapply. Also, the state has purged 1 million voters from the Florida voter rolls in 2023 — and some were removed in error. In other cases, people moved and have yet to update their voter registrations. We want to help people to check their voter information to be sure it is correct and up-to-date. That is why we send teams of people out to senior facilities, fairs and schools. That is also why we need Team Leaders since we can’t go out without them! What is a Team

Fifth Solar Co-op in Palm Beach County to Launch.

Solar Energy is good for the environment, good for the economy and good for the consumer. By Diane Marks A fifth Solar Co-op in Palm Beach County will start on April 9, and end in August.  The last Solar Co-op had 91 members.  Each member was interested in putting solar panels on their roof and cut their energy expenses.  By joining the Co-op, the members pick one installer who can cut the installation cost by 20 percent by virtue of having numerous installations.  Through 2024, there is a 30 percent income tax credit so this Co-op, too, can save 50 percent on the total cost of your solar installation. The state LWV has joined with Solar United Neighbors, a non-profit organization that has the technical knowledge to explain solar to the community and handle questions co-op members have. The League of Women Voters has partnered with other energy-conscious organizations to
