Tax Deduction:
Dues and donations to a 501(c)(3) organization are tax-deductible. LWVPBC is a 501(c)(3) organization.

20% of your dues goes to LWVPBC,, and that portion of your dues are tax-deductible. In addition, 100% of any donation you make to LWVPBC is tax-deductible.

The balance of your dues goes to LWVUS (national) and LWVFL (state), both of which are 501(c)(4) organizations. Donations to a 501(c)(4) organization are not tax-deductible.

Why Join the League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Our organization does not support or oppose any candidates. We do initiate direct and grassroots lobbying for issues important to our democracy and our mission to “Empower Voters” and “Defend Democracy”.

We encourage voter turnout in every election, always free from coercion and intimidation, and we work to make sure every vote is properly cast and counted.
