I hope all those Democrats who did not vote have come to realize the significance of their non-vote. But, Republican voters need to wake up. Party loyalty is dangerous in these dangerous times. No matter what party you registered in, especially suburban moms, ask yourself these questions: Do you care about keeping abortion safe and legal? Do you want your children to be safe at school from gun violence? For that matter, do you want to be safe at the bank, the grocery store, the movie theater? Do you want an environment in which the human race can thrive in the future? Do you believe in the American system of democracy and rights for all?
If these things are important to you, vote for the candidates that will do something about these issues.
Inflation comes and goes. The economy goes up and down. That is part of our system. But without legal abortion, reasonable gun laws, protected environment and voting rights and access for all, the economy just won’t matter.
