The Young Leaguers of Palm Beach County participated in a Beach Cleanup at Red Reef Park on March 9th. League members met at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton and were given a tour of the nature center and learned about their facility. Tour Guide Susan Datres educated us about the harmful impact small plastics have on sea turtles and other sea creatures. We then cleaned the beach and filled 16 buckets of trash. This event allowed us to make a small but significant step to take care of the environment.

On April 2nd, Young Leaguers and the Civics Education Committee teamed up to have a Civics Trivia Event. It was an educational and fun experience bonding our groups together. It not only reinforced the importance of civics education but it also showed us that we need to make more of an effort to implement civics in our community. Thank you to Christene Campbell Gabor and Lori Dool for doing an excellent job as our presenters and trivia hosts.

Having a decent, safe place to live is such an essential thing in life. On June 15th, Young Leaguers will be collaborating with other community groups to work on the Women Build Project benefitting Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County. Together we are building and sponsoring homes for two hardworking women and their families. You can help our team empower these two women by supporting our Women Build Team “Champions for Change” at
