Mayor Stewart is committed to making Lantana a better place to live, work and play because he truly does “Love Lantana”.
My name is Robert Hagerty, and I am a candidate for the Mayor of Lantana. I would like to introduce myself and provide a little background about myself. I was born in Illinois and moved to Florida in 1978.
In 1989, I became affiliated with the Lantana Police Department, initially riding as a citizen. I put myself through both the Reserve and Full-time Law Enforcement Academies, and in 1990 I was hired by the Lantana Police Department where I served this community for over 29 years.
In 2019 I retired as the Commander of the Lantana Police Department, a position I held for the last seven years of my career. I was responsible for Emergency Management preparedness for the Town, in addition to management oversight of budgeting, day-to-day operations, training, communications, and Detective Bureau. During my tenure, I successfully wrote an agency grant that resulted in $1.5 million dollars in public safety funding for our police department.
I have lived and worked in Lantana for over two decades, so I have the long-term experience and results-oriented approach needed to deal with the challenges we face. I feel a change in the mayor’s office is needed for the residents of this town to bring more effective and compassionate leadership, a stronger focus on public safety, realistic visioning, and appropriate beautification efforts. As the former Emergency Management Director for Lantana, I have the proven skills to proactively keep us safe from coronavirus, and responsibly get our economy moving again.
I look forward to serving the members of this community for years to come.
