If you could protect votes from being hijacked — Would you? Could you?
You can! Join our Election Protection project!
In 2020, the Voting Rights Coalition is partnering with the nonpartisan Florida Election Protection Coalition to make sure that voters in Palm Beach County know their rights and their votes count.
Every eligible voter deserves to have his or her vote counted — that’s the cornerstone of our democracy. Our nation suffers when eligible, registered voters are turned away from the polls, unable to find their polling place or are otherwise blocked from exercising their rights.
The nonpartisan Election Protection Coalition is made up of more than 100 local, state and national partners. Under the leadership of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law and Common Cause, they work to ensure that every eligible voter gets to vote. To do this, they mobilize thousands of volunteers across the country who act as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, outdated infrastructure, rampant misinformation and needless obstacles to the ballot box.
But we need your help. We are asking you to serve your community and our democracy by signing up as an Election Protection volunteer.
Volunteers are trained and provided with a hotline to lawyers and election officials. If, after the training, the volunteer decides to participate, she or he commits to doing at least one shift (3-4 hours) on Election Day. The individual will stand outside of an assigned polling location and speak with voters, distribute “Know Your Rights” cards, answer basic questions from voters, and help voters resolve any problems that occur.
Don’t just sit at home on Election Day and worry about what is going on at the polls. Get out there and help ensure that voters can exercise that vote!
Sign up as an Election Protection volunteer today and we’ll contact you with more information.
