Members of the Environmental Issues Group (EIG) were pleased to participate in Earth Day 2019 hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University on April 12.
Information on alternatives to single-use plastics and a message of “Refuse, Reuse, and Recycle” were provided to over 70 individuals (primarily college students) who stopped to see examples of alternative products that can be used in place of plastics and to receive their free beeswax wrap – an inexpensive and easy-to-make alternative to plastic wrap.

Over 30 attendees entered a raffle for three recyclable items that were awarded and many of them asked for more information on our environmental initiatives as well as the League, wrapping up a great day at the Earth Day Fair.
As we work to remind others of our precious environment, all Leaguers are encouraged to bypass plastics (give up that plastic straw!), reduce waste, and to adopt eco-friendly products and practices as we make strive to make every day Earth Day!
