Advocacy Committee Update

Advocacy Committee Update

by Jim Eisenberg It is difficult, to say the least, to be an advocate with legislatures at this time of year and during these Covid-19 times. This is a difficult time of year to talk and advocate with legislators because it’s election time. The legislators want to talk only about getting themselves re-elected before they could honestly discuss our positions on specific issues, and who knows who will be elected. Therefore, real work by our committee will have to wait until after the elections when winning candidates are happy and willing to please, and everybody knows who they are. Hopefully by then, the Covid pandemic will have lessened to the point that we can have some face-to-face dialogue, with masks on of course. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on that one. Please feel free to contact me with any comments or suggestions.

The majority of that money will be for health programs.
