• The Commission approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The Commission also will begin contract negotiations with the current Homestead City Manager for the City Manager position in Delray.
  • Although there was disappointment any residents and the Commission about the proposed removal of mangroves, the Commission decided to advance the Marine Way Seawall and Docs Improvement Program. A presenter noted that tidal flooding creates a safety issue and outlined the City’s plan for a pump station, public walkway, seawall, and public dock. Private docks to the east of Marine Way would be demolished, but owners would have the option to rebuild at their own expense
  • The Commission, partly in response to complaints from homeowners in the Tropic Isle neighborhood about a new access road to the Delray Place South shopping center, directed staff to seek traffic mitigation strategies for Federal Highway between 10th Street and the Boca Raton border and for Linton Road between Federal Highway and I-95.
